Acceptance of terms

By using SatChart, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app or related services.

Description of service

SatChart provides fishing-planning, mapping, logbook, Radio Group, tides/weather, offline data, OCR, and historical research tools for Bristol Bay commercial fishing context.

Critical safety disclaimer

SatChart is not an official nautical chart, chart plotter, ECDIS, official navigation system, emergency communication system, official weather warning system, official tide/current table, fishery-management decision product, substitute for vessel operator judgment, or substitute for official sources, instruments, or regulatory notices.

User responsibility

• You are responsible for safe navigation and vessel operation.
• You are responsible for legal compliance and checking official sources.
• Verify weather, tides, openings, closures, emergency orders, and regulations.
• Maintain proper onboard equipment and use judgment in hazardous environments.

Account terms

Provide accurate account information, keep credentials secure, and notify support of unauthorized access. You are responsible for activity under your account.

Radio Groups and shared content

You control what you choose to share. Shared content may be visible to group members. Do not share unlawful, unsafe, abusive, misleading, or unauthorized information. Group owners/admins may manage membership. SatChart is not responsible for user-generated group content.

Location sharing

Location sharing is opt-in, may be delayed, inaccurate, or unavailable, and is not emergency/rescue tracking. You can stop sharing in the app.

Subscriptions

SatChart may offer an annual subscription, potentially with a two-week free trial, through Apple In-App Purchase. Renewals, cancellations, billing, refunds, and payment policies are handled by Apple. Access may depend on an active entitlement. Pricing and availability may change as permitted by Apple and applicable law.

Offline data and updates

Offline packs may require an initial internet connection and periodic updates. Data may be delayed, cached, outdated, corrected, incomplete, or unavailable. Update regularly and verify critical information.

OCR and logbook tools

OCR may be wrong. You must review and correct extracted fields. Logbook tools are informational and do not replace official reporting, recordkeeping, or compliance obligations.

Data sources

Third-party data may be delayed, inaccurate, unavailable, or changed by providers. Third-party providers do not endorse SatChart unless expressly stated.

Prohibited uses

• Unlawful activity, harassment, abuse, or unsafe reliance on SatChart as a sole source.
• Interfering with the app, backend, or other users.
• Scraping, abuse, reverse engineering where prohibited, or bypassing subscription/access controls.

Intellectual property

The SatChart app, website, design, and original content belong to SatChart/operator except for third-party data, trademarks, and materials owned by their respective owners.

Disclaimers

To the extent allowed by law, SatChart is provided “as is” and “as available,” without guarantees of accuracy, availability, completeness, timeliness, or fitness for navigation, weather, safety, fishing, legal, or financial decisions.

Limitation of liability

To the extent allowed by law, SatChart and its operators are not liable for losses arising from reliance on app information, unavailable or inaccurate data, user-generated content, delayed location sharing, OCR errors, subscription availability, or decisions made using SatChart.

Termination

SatChart may suspend or terminate access for misuse, security concerns, legal reasons, nonpayment, or conduct that risks users, systems, or the service.

Changes to terms

These Terms may be updated. The effective date will be revised when material changes are posted.
